History
The band was founded when Daniel Jones held an audition to find a new singer for his band Red Edge. Jones opted for the former kindergarten Darren Hayes. Both, however, soon broke away from Red Edge and published in mid-1997 under the name Savage Garden their eponymous debut album. The band's name came from the vampire novels by Anne Rice ( " The mind of each man is a savage garden ... Hayes and Jones wrote and produced her music itself fast they celebrated in their home country commercial successes. In the autumn of 1999 appeared with the second album Affirmation by Savage Garden. The first single from the fact I Knew I Loved You was the biggest hit of the band. In the U.S., the single occupied four weeks, the top of the charts. The album has sold over seven million copies worldwide.
