Savannah Marshall

Savannah Marshall (born 19 May 1991, Hartlepool, Teesside, England) is an English boxer. It was 2010 Vice World Champion in the welterweight division.

Career

Savannah Marshall grew up in Hartlepool, where he attended the English Martyrs and Sixth Form College and later earned the BTEC National Diploma in Sport at Hartlepool College PE. In her 12 years she began with the boxes after they had previously operated the usual school sports. It was supported by her father and joined the Hartlepool Headland at BC. Earlier in her career she had usually train with guys because there were no girls who boxed. As a model it was in these early years, also from Hartlepool Amanda Coulson, a multiple medalist in boxing at international championships. Since it belongs to the England team of amateur boxers, they trained mostly at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. Your coach is there Tim Coulter.

At the end of her junior season 2008 they had, for lack of opponents, denied gerademal 10 fights, she has won all. In 2009 she was a demolition victory i.d. First round of Sian Hemming British champion in the welterweight division. She was then employed by the British boxing federation in the championship of the European Union in Pazardzhik / Bulgaria, where she won with point victories over Furmaniak Katarzyna, Poland ( 5:2 ), Ralitza Christowa, Bulgaria ( 4-0) and Tamara Garcia, Spain ( 15:2 ) immediately the title. The victorious battle against Tamara Garcia was there until their 15th fight in her career. At the European Championships 2009 in Nikolaev / Ukraine it was not used, because they wanted to build it carefully as a young boxer.

2010, she won the trophy in Ankara by the Prime Minister in the welterweight division and defeated it with Tatjana Iwaschenko ( 5:2 ), Elena Kolzowa, Kazakhstan (2-0), Simge Genc, Turkey ( 4:0) and Katarzyna Furmaniak (2:1) four very good opponents. When Minoam -Womens Cup in Heraklion / Greece they prevailed over Andrea Strohmaier from Germany on points ( 7:1), but had in the semi-final against Svetlana Kosova from Russia a concise point defeat ( 4:6 ) to accept and finished 3rd. In the championship of the European Union in 2010 in Keszthely / Hungary, she won welterweight over Valentina Penewa, Bulgaria (4-2 ) and Marichelle de Jong, Netherlands (4-2 ), but lost in the semi-final against local favorite Bianka Nagy of Hungary ( 4:6 ) and therefore came to 2nd place.

Then was the 2010 World Cup in Bridgetown / Barbados to highlight their careers. She won there welterweight over Sroczynska Justyna, Poland ( 17:2 ), the reigning European champion Lotte Lien, Norway ( 6:2 ) and Marichelle de Jong ( 14:4 ) respectively on points. In the final, she met the younger by one year U.S. American Andrecia Wasson, who narrowly lost with 4:5 points in a balanced fight and thus vice-world champion was.

Savannah Marshall has so far won 33 fights, of which they won 30 and lost only 3 (as of 16 December 2010). My big goal is the subscriber at the 2012 Olympics in London, where it must nevertheless compete in the middleweight division, because there only the weight classes up to 51 kg, 60 kg and 75 kg are carried out with the women.

As a world champion Savannah Marshall was automatically eligible to start at the Olympic Games in London. But you could win a medal there do not realize because they in the quarterfinals against Marina Wolnowa from Kazakhstan somewhat surprisingly lost to SE bye on points and therefore stood down.

2013, it was in Keszthely / Hungary in superior style again champion of the European Union at middleweight.
