SAVE ( savings and pensions in Germany ) is a representative collection of data on the saving behavior of private households in Germany. The survey was first conducted in 2001.

About the Study

In order to research the savings behavior of German households have better results in the Munich (formerly: Mannheim) Centre for the Economics of Aging ( MEA), together with TNS Social Research, the SAVE survey since 2001. The survey was funded until 2010 by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Focus of the survey are saving behavior, retirement and savings in Germany. The SAVE study allows the exploration of economic, sociological and psychological contexts. Therefore, questions about income, assets, retirement plans and also to socio- demographic and psychological characteristics are provided. These include, for example, expectations, attitudes, and risk adjustment of the respondents. SAVE has been conducted annually since 2005. As every year, the same households are interviewed (panel ), changes in savings and investment behavior of households can be acquired over time. The now ninth Poll Survey for 2011 was conducted in collaboration with the Institute for Labour Market and Employment Research ( IAB), the Research Institute of the Federal Employment Agency, carried out. Sample size

Use the SAVE data

The SAVE data from the CSA - asked Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences interested researchers for non-commercial purposes. The complete anonymity is preserved.
