Savina Yannatou

Savina Yannatou (Greek Σαβίνα Γιαννάτου Savina Giannatou; born March 16, 1959 in Athens ) is a Greek singer.

Yannatou studied singing at the National Conservatory of Athens in Gogo Georgilopoulou and Spyros Sakkas ' studio for singing, besides also music theory with Alexandros Enian and guitar at Gerasimos Eliaresis. Thereafter, she attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Since 1979 she has worked professionally as a singer.

In 1980 her first CD of children's songs Edo Lilipouli, followed in 1985 by Nanourismata with sleeping and lullabies. She also appeared in works of modern Greek composers such as the Opera Erotokritos and Aretousa by Nikos Mamangakis and made a name for himself as an interpreter of works of pre-classical. Since 1983, she worked with the Studio for Early Music, lists the works of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Baroque period instruments.

With the CD Aniksi sti Saloniki ( Primavera en Salonico ) they took on the tradition of Sephardic music as it was obtained by Cantor David Saltiel. From the ensemble Primavera in Saloniko with Kyriakos Gouventas, Yannis Alexandris, Mihalis Siganidis, Harris Lambrakis and Kostas Theodorou was led by Kostas Vomvolos, dedicated to the music of the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Published in 1998 their CD with songs of the Mediterranean.

Furthermore Yannatou is a renowned interpreter of the classical world music and put with the album Rosa das Rosas (2000) own compositions for electronic music before. She composed music for theater, dance and video works and improvised with musicians like Peter Kowald. In the film project The Rape of the Sabine Women by Eve Sussman & The Rufus Corporation, in early 2007 at the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart in Berlin has been shown to occur as a singer.
