Savonranta

Savonranta was until 2009 an independent municipality in the eastern Finnish countryside Savo.

It was formed in 1882 from parts of the communities Kerimäki and Heinavesi. On January 1, 2009, she was the city of Savonlinna incorporated. The capital and Kirchdorf of the community was the site Vuokala, next to it included the villages Hanhijärvi, Hankavaara, Lapinlahti, Paasniemi, Pirttimäki, Säimen, Rönkönvaara, Turtianniemi and Leivola. Last Savonranta had about 1,500 inhabitants.
