Say It Right

Say It Right is a pop / R & B song of the Canadian- Portuguese singer Nelly Furtado, Timbaland and Danja on the third studio album for Furtado's Loose was produced. Say It Right was released as third single of the album, on 31 October 2006 in the United States. In Germany the number as the fourth track on the album was, according to All Good Things ( Come to an End ), released as a single. In Latin America, Say It Right was the fifth decoupled song by Loose.

The band Bloc Party coverte the song Jo Whiley 's Radio in the show on 11 April 2007.

Video

The rotation of the music video for Say It Right was directed by British directors Rankin & Chris. This was shot in Los Angeles at different locations and was established in late October 2006.

The clip starts with a helicopter landing on the roof of a building in Los Angeles. On this roof is in large white letters NELLY FURTADO on the black bottom of the heliport. After landing the helicopter, a dark gray Eurocopter AS 350 B2 which is also labeled with their name, the singer gets out of this.

The short black dress was designed especially for her by Australian designer Alex Perry. During the video the skyline of Los Angeles or its also dressed in black dancers are shown in the background again. Another feature are the recordings of producer Timbaland. The video for Say It Right ends with Nelly rises back into the helicopter and this then takes off.

In the U.S. edition of MTV's Total Request Live (TRL ) Say It Right was two weeks at the top, also in Germany chose the audience the song to second place.

Chart success

The song rose in mid-November at # 93 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and peaked in the 14th week the top spot on the charts. This became Furtado her second number -one hit in the States. Even in her native Canada and in New Zealand, the song reached number one in the charts. In the UK, managed Say It Right at # 10 on the charts, based only on downloads.

In Germany, the song debuted at # 2 on the charts and stayed there for a total of 9 weeks, due to the strong competition (DJ Ötzi A star ) but it did not conquer the first place. However, the song reached platinum status.

In Switzerland, Furtado broke even from on top, Say It Right thrust her "old " single All Good Things ( Come to An End ) after eleven weeks from pole position.

Say It Right also reached number one in countries like Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Israel, Croatia, Luxembourg, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Czech Republic, Turkey and Hungary.

To date, more than 7 million units of Say It Right were sold.
