SC Eisenstadt

The Sports Club Eisenstadt was a football club from the capital of Burgenland Eisenstadt, Austria, who had set the game operation in early May 2008 for financial reasons. The Sports Club played in the Regionalliga Ost, the third- highest division of Austria. His club colors were red and white. The association has long been the flagship of the Burgenland football.

History

The club in 1907 as Kismarton FC was founded. Eisenstadt belonged Kismarton as the Hungarian half of the Empire of the Austro -Hungarian Empire. His most successful periods experienced the SC Eisenstadt in the 1970s and 80s. Overall, the football club was represented 13 times in the Bundesliga, namely in the seasons 1968-1970, 1972-1975, 1980/81 and 1982 until 1987. Larger national success came from, however. The best result achieved Eisenstadt with the 8th place in 1985. During the years 1967, 1971 and 1980, was at the re- climbs a total of three-time champion of the second division. The biggest success in club history was winning the international Mitropacups 1984. One could prevail over FK Pristina, Union Teplice and Vasas Budapest.

Sporty and financially it went downhill in 1988 when the club went bankrupt and was able to escape the liquidation only by a compulsory settlement. In the season 2006/ 07 Eisenstadt appeared again just before the off, when the club should be closed because of debts over 6,000 euros in the Burgenland Football Association this for the other scheduled operation. With the entry of the entrepreneur Richard Trenkwalder early 2007 as a new sponsor, the beglich all debts of the association, the more Match operation, however, could be guaranteed.

For the 2007 /08 season of SC Eisenstadt forms, together with the SC Ritzing a game community. The SC Eisenstadt wintered in the 2007/ 08 season as a Table with 5 points and a goal difference of -28. In spring 2008, insolvency proceedings against the club was started, as a result the matches 6 rounds was set before the season ends on May 2, 2008.

Stadium

The home matches of SC Eisenstadt were held up to the 2006/07 season in the 14,700 -seat stadium Linde. From summer 2007, all home games were played in Sonnensee Stadium in Ritzing, which could take at this time about 4,500 visitors.

The Linde stadium was picked and found to be in disrepair; the soccer goals were shortly afterwards dismantled. The SC Eisenstadt played since the beginning of the spring season 2007/ 08 at the stadium in Antau. The stadium is to be dismantled and recycled back into a park in the palace gardens.
