SC Heerenveen

The sc Heerenveen is a football club based in Heerenveen, Friesland province in the Netherlands.

History

The club was founded on July 20, 1920 as Athleta. From 1921 until October 1922, called the association Spartaan, after he changed its name to VV Heerenveen. Professional football was housed on 1 June 1977 in a private club, the sc Heerenveen. The Voetbal Vereniging Heerenveen still exists today.

The club name is officially written with small letters "sc ".

The most famous player who was active in each Heerenveen Abe Lenstra was. In the 1950s, he was a multiple national team for the Netherlands. The 2005/06 season ended Heerenveen at the 7th place and thus did not qualify for the international competition.

The 2006/2007 season they finished off in 5th place and qualified for the first round of the UEFA Cup in 2007 /08. Here you failed, however already at Helsingborgs IF 5:3 and 1:5.

In the 2007 /08 season again you could qualify for the UEFA Cup itself. In the first round of the UEFA Cup 2008/ 09 we sat down at 1-1 and 5-2 against Vitória Setúbal in Portugal. In the next group stage but you could not point gain recorded and consequently different than bottom of Group E from.

In the 2008 /09 season, the Norwegian Trond Sollied took over as coach of Gertjan Verbeek, who left the SC after four years in the direction of Feyenoord Rotterdam.
