SC Weiz

The Sports Club Weiz is an Austrian football club from Weiz in Styria. The club plays in the Styrian League, the fourth- highest level game in Austria. The club colors are green and black.

History

Intermediate and post-war period

The club was founded in 1924 as the football section of the ATuS Weiz. After the Second World War, the ATuS Weiz played in the group East ( 3rd class Styria ) and increased in 1947 as a master in the second class. 1950 followed with the title in this division, the rise in 1st class and 1952 the next rise in the Styrian league. After eight seasons in the National League followed in 1960 the descent into the underworld league.

Regional and Elevator years

1965 ATuS Weiz returned to the national league. The biggest success in club history, the Association celebrated in 1970 by winning the championship in the third-tier division and the associated first-time promotion to the Regionalliga, the then second highest playing level in Austria. There, the crew of the ATuS Weiz could claim four seasons long before 1974 - due to the introduction of two-tier Premier League - followed relegation in the national league.

Four years later, the team got down to the minor league, hovering in the following years between minor league and the national league. In 1993 the now Sports Club Weiz new club by the champion's rise to the newly- Oberliga before again reached in 1999 the rise in the country's fourth-rate nunmehrige league. After descending into the following season, the repeated rise in the fourth division succeeded in 2001.

Resurgence

On 8 June 2007, the SC Weiz joined the national league season 2006/ 07 from a draw against FC case-sensitive in the first place, which after 1970 the repeated promotion to the Regionalliga Mitte, which now represents the third highest league, meant. In the 2010/11 season the club was relegated back to division.
