Scammell

Scammell was a British manufacturer of tractors and heavy trucks.

History

In 1919, the body company Scammell before their first tractor. In 1922 the company Scammell Lorries Ltd was established in Watford for the truck world. Scammell focused on the construction of heavy trucks and tractors. 1933 was presented for the transport to the Mechanical Horse a light truck, which was built in several versions until 1968. The Scammell Pioneer and Scammell Pioneer Semi- trailer Special vehicles for the transport of damaged tanks produced for use in World War II. 1955 Scammell was integrated into the Leyland Group, the program has not changed. After the takeover of Leyland DAF by the production ended at Scammell 1988.
