The inflorescence stalk ( Pedunkulus ) is in flowering plants that portion of a stem axis, which is below the inflorescence and carries this. The main axis of the inflorescence itself is the inflorescence axis.

In rosette plants of the peduncle, which lies between the rosette and the inflorescence and is busy leafless or with shed leaves, flowers stem is called.
