Scatman's World

Scatman 's World is an album by Scatman John from the year 1995. It appeared after the success of his debut single, Scatman. The album is an imaginary utopian society is described called " Scatland ". He describes with the phrase: "If you're wondering where Scatland is, you do not have to look too far; it's in between your deepest dreams and warmest wishes " (If you were wondering where Scatland should be, you do not have time searching for it, you can find it between your most secret dreams and greatest desires ).

The songs contain various elements of American society and also aim to Scatmans personal experiences: Popstars describes with an ironic undertone the superficial lives of celebrities, Quiet Desperation is about the dead- life homeless. Time ( Take Your Time ) tells of his time at Alcoholics Anonymous.

The published as a single ballad song of Scatland is dedicated to an imaginary kingdom. Hi, Louis closes the album with traditional scatting and jazz piano, the title is possibly a reference to Louis Armstrong, who still Everybody Jam! is mentioned by the eponymous album.

Scatman 's World was particularly successful internationally and in Japan, where it reached # 2 on the charts and held more than 40 weeks in the charts. In total, more than 1.5 million copies of the album were sold.
