Scaumenacia ( Syn: Canadipterus ) is an extinct genus of lungfish ( Dipnoi ) from the Upper Devonian of Canada.

Features

Scaumenacia reached a length of 25 to 35 centimeters. The body was covered with large rounded scales. His figure was stretched moderately long, somewhat flattened high backs and sides. The head was narrow, the eyes small, pointed snout. The first dorsal fin was very low, fringe-like and started at the highest point of the body. The second dorsal fin was far back and was wide and high. The caudal fin was heterocercal. Anal fin, abdominal and pectoral fins were narrow, long and pointed. The anal fin was in the back right in front of the tail fin.

Scaumenacia lived in fresh water and fed on meat eating ( carnivorous ).
