Schaffhouse-sur-Zorn

Schaffhouse- sur -Zorn is a commune with 392 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. In the village street agriculture is mainly operated. The Annex to the place name is named after the anger, which flows through the northern municipality. Until April 18, 1949 was called the village " Schaffhausen ". The community is a member of the Communauté de communes du Pays de la anger.

Schaff House is located three kilometers south of Hochfelden and 22 km ( straight line ) north- west of Strasbourg. Between Hochfelden and Schaffhausen the Rhine- Marne Canal runs. The two towns are connected by the road department 25.

History

In 774 the city will be the first time under the name Scafhusa, mentioned in a charter of the monastery of Wissembourg, which had possessions there. The name means sheep house, so today sheepfold.

The coat of arms shows a golden key on a blue background, which crosses a silver sword. These are the attributes of the Apostles Peter and Paul, which indicate the membership of the parish to the mother parish of Peter and Paul in Hochfelden.
