The sheep's head is one with 617 m of the few mountains of the Palatinate Forest, the skip the 600 m mark. It is located south of the Kalmit in the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest -Vosges du Nord, near the town of St. Martin and forms with the Morsch mountain ( 608 m), Rotsohlberg (607 m) and Steiger head ( 614 m) a contiguous mountain range. The sheep's head is completely wooded. The summit is reached via routes or paths.
