The Schafreuter from Schönalmjoch in winter

The Schafreuter (also sheep rider or Scharfreiterring ) is a 2102 m above sea level. A. high mountain in Vorkarwendel over which the border between Bavaria and Tyrol runs ( landmark of 1844). The summit offers excellent views of the Hinterautal - Vomper chain, northern Karwendel chain and the Soierngruppe in the Karwendel mountains of the Alps as well known ( Benediktenwand, horse and carrying stone).

Ways

The summit can be ( 1580 m above sea level. A. ) over a grassy ridge or from the Tolz hut (1835 m above sea level. A. ) with some rock steps unschwierigen and insured committed or exceeded by the Moosenalm.

Climb to Moosenalm either case ( bus stop (780 m above sea level. A. ) ), on the northern foothills of the Vorkarwendelkette ( game cutting, Grasköpfel (1726 m above sea level. A. ) ) or from the Rißtal from the bus stop Oswald hut ( 844 m above sea level. A. ).

As approaches to Tolz hut the following variants are to: steeply from the Rißtal ( bus stop ascent Tolz hut), lengthy case by case through the valley of Duerrach and Krottenbach or a mountain walk from the Plumsjochhütte on the grass ridge with exceeding compart, Grasbergjoch, Hölzelstaljoch and the Baumgartenalm.

The ascent of sheep Reuters is also one of the most popular skiing in the Karwendel mountains ( recommended route from the Oswald hut on the Mooslahneralm ).
