Schafsiedel

The Schafsiedel is a 2447 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in Austria. He is one of the highest mountains of the ridge line of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Approximately 500 m south of the summit is the Aleitenspitze ( 2449 m above sea level. A. ), which is the Schafsiedel relatively easily accessible.

Route to the top

The most common route of ascent is the Short the reason in Kelchsau. The starting point for Gasthof Wegscheid ( 1148 m) is reachable by car on a paved and toll road. There are numerous unpaved parking lots right next to the inn.

The climb follows a wooded ditch on the New Bamberger Hütte (1756 m), located approximately 300 meters further is the turnoff to Schafsiedel. The trail then leads west to the lower Wildalmsee (1937 m), where fishermen frequently encountered. Continue to the nearby middle Wildalmsee ( 2028 m), the largest surface area of the three lakes. Just below the summit, one finally reaches the top Wildalmsee ( 2324 m), the highest lake in the Kitzbühel Alps.
