Schatt village is a municipality in the canton of Uri in Switzerland.

Geography

Schatt village lies in the Reuss Valley at the northern foot of the Bälmeten ( 2,414 m above sea level. M. ). The municipal border with Bourguillon runs Schächen ( Bach ). The western boundary of the municipality of the Reuss. To Schattdorf includes the southeast lies the village Teiftal through which the transition stream flows. In addition, the hamlet Haldi ( 1,079 m above sea level. M. ) and the scattered settlements of Schattdorf mountains ( 1'162 - 1'366 m above sea level. M. ). South-west of the village lies in the hamlet of Ried Reuss level (452 m above sea level. M. ) on the main road towards Erstfeld.

179 ha or 11.0 % of the community are built-up area. Of which 70 ha buildings and 57 hectares of industrial area and 41 ha traffic area. More extensive is the agricultural area of 546 ha, or a share of 33.6 %. Among them are Alpine regions, which lie largely in the community part Schattdorf mountains. Population

The population grew in the 1850s sharply. In the following decade, the growth leveled off a bit, but then took in the 1870s again strongly. Overall, the population grew 1850-1880 by 298 persons or 36.3%. There followed a brief slump until 1888 (1880-1888: -2.6 %). From 1888 to 2000 was followed by a continuous growth. Between 1950 and 1980, it was particularly strong ( 1950-1980: 116.6 %). Since 2000, the population decreases slightly ( from 2000 to 2005: -1.4%)

Languages

The population speaks a high- Alemannic dialect. Almost the entire population speaks German as a daily vernacular. At the last census in 2000 gave 94.67 % German, Serbo-Croatian, 1.53% and 0.90 % Italian as the main language.

Religions - faiths

The population was formerly full member of the Roman Catholic Church. The confessional relations in 2000 can still recognize the original structure. 4248 people were Catholic ( 86.75 %). There were 5.82% and 1.49 % Reformed Evangelical Orthodox Christians, Muslims 1.55% and 2.43 % non-religious. 79 people (1.61 %) did not respond to their creed.

Origin - Nationality

From the end of 2005 4829 residents were 4508 ( 93.35 %), Swiss nationals. The immigrants originate mainly from Central Europe ( Germany ), from southern Europe ( Italy and Portugal), the former Yugoslavia (Serbia / Montenegro and Croatia) and Turkey. At the 2000 census, 4487 people ( 91.63 %) were Swiss citizens; it possessed 96 people dual citizenship.

Age structure

The municipality has a high proportion of younger people. While the proportion of people accounts for almost 26.16 % of the local population under twenty years, are only just 15.72% seniors (60 years and older). The average age is around 35 years.

In 2005 there were 50 farms that offered 125 jobs. Industrial employees working in 44 workplaces in 1003, the service sector in 92 companies in 1075 persons ( employment on a full- time equivalent ). The 2000 census revealed 58 agricultural and forestry enterprises with 159 employees. The census in 2001 came on 45 industrial and commercial enterprises with 961 and 99 services companies with 1122 employees. The formerly agriculturally dominated community has today from a high proportion of industrial employees. Of the economically active in 2000 2557 people Schatt village worked 804 ( 31.44 %) in their own community. Overall, the place offered 2037 people at work, of which 804 ( 39.47 %) were locals. An important area is considered the industrial zone Rynächt in which have also established many trading companies lately and have opened their mostly single branch in Canton Uri - such as Manor, Jumbo, Fust or Otto's. Schatt village is part of the industrial center Altdorf / Schattdorf. The 1753 commuters do their work mostly in other municipalities of the canton of Uri. Among 916 persons in Altdorf, 155 in Bourguillon, 139 in Erstfeld, 45 in Flüelen, 33 and 24 in silenes in Seedorf. Attractions
