Schaulager

The acting camp was built on behalf of the Laurenz Foundation by the Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron, was opened in Munich Stein 2003 Basel and is primarily designed as an open warehouse, which creates optimal spatial and climatic conditions for the preservation of works of art. Conceptually, it is a mix between public museum, art storage facility and art research institute.

The spectacle presents itself in each camp for a few months in the year with a special exhibition to a wider public.

The collection of the Emanuel Hoffmann Foundation, which is the heart of the actor camp, was founded in 1933 by Maja Hoffmann- Stehlin, later Maja Sacher ( 1898-1989 ), founded.
