Geography

Rebuke is on 746 m above sea level. M., 15 km east-northeast of the town Moutier ( straight line ) and is the easternmost municipality in the district of Moutier and also the northernmost municipality in the canton of Bern. Population

With 34 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) scolding one of the smallest towns in the Bernese Jura. Of the residents, 82.7 percent and 15.4 percent are French- German-speaking (as of 2000). Traffic

The community is located far away from the major thoroughfares on the main road that leads from Delémont ( JU) by Val Terbi and over the Scheltenpass to Balsthal (SO). Scolding is not connected to the public transport network. The nearest village with connection to a public bus network is the community Mervelier (about 7 km west of rebuke ).

History

Rebuke was subordinate to the end of the 18th century, the provost Moutier- Grandval. From 1797-1815 rebuke belonged to France and was initially part of the Département du Mont- Terrible, which was connected to the 1800 Haut -Rhin. By the decision of the Congress of Vienna, the place came in 1815 to the canton of Bern to the Val Terbi exclave situated in the district of Moutier. Attractions
