Schempp-Hirth Arcus

The Arcus is a two-seater high performance sailplane Schempp -Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH with a wingspan of 20 meters and flaps.

The first flight of the Arcus was held on 7 April 2009, the first flight of the Arcus E on 18 September 2010.

Construction is the Arcus as a pure glider ( Arcus S or only Arcus ), as Turbo ( Arcus T, Solo -2350 engine), as own starter ( Arcus M, Solo 2625 - engine ) and as a self- starter with an electric motor ( Arcus E), The latter in collaboration with Lange Aviation GmbH.

According to the manufacturer, the glide ratio is about 50

The Arcus M received on 20 June 2013, the type-certificate, with which even school and guest flights are permitted.
