Schererville is a town in Lake County in the U.S. state of Indiana. The city is part of the Chicago metropolitan area.

The location at the southern tip of Lake Michigan was founded in 1846 by settlers emigrated from Germany Nicholas Scherer in 1866. At the last census in 2010 29.243 people lived in Schererville.

The town was awarded in 2007 by Money Magazine as one of the "100 Best Places to Live in the USA".
