Schickard (crater)

The lunar crater Schickard is a great level rampart, near the southwestern edge of the moon 's front panel. It was named after the German astronomer Wilhelm Schickard.

The powerful, almost circular wall plane located just south of Mare Humorum, northeast of the crater Wargentin. From the Earth as seen from Wall level is almost at the edge of the moon, which is why they appear to be distorted ellipse.
