Schiersfeld

Schiersfeld is a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Alsenz - Obermoschel, which has its headquarters in the town of Alsenz.

Geography

Schiersfeld is located in the north- Palatinate mountains north of the Palatinate Forest. Northeast is sitters, east is Mannenweiler - Coelln and in southwest lies Finke -Gersweiler. To Schiersfeld includes the living space Sulzhof.

History

The town was first mentioned in 962 as Sceringesfeld documented.

Parish council

The local council in Schiersfeld consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009, by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Culture and sights

The Protestant church dates from the year in 1761. It is the only church in the Palatinate with boxes chairs in the nave.
