History

The formation of the Commune in 1974 resulted in larger Spaden to violent protests, particularly because of the lack of direct connection and the separating Geestemünde. From 1971 to 1974 Bramel, ship village and Sellstedt Been connected as an independent member communities of the velvet municipality Geesteort close together. Originally it was planned that Wehdel and Geestenseth should not belong to the community unit ship the village. Instead, a common Samtgemeinde with Köhlen was (now a member municipality of the velvet municipality Bederkesa ) planned Frelsdorf and Wollingst (now both districts of the municipality Beverstedt ), which was not formed because of the lack of local interest. Altluneberg was, however, already incorporated to Wehdel 1967. Formerly belonged Schiffdorferdamm to ship village. Due to the urban communities in Schiffdorferdamm the former municipality ship village should be incorporated fully by 1927 Wesermünde. However, the district ship village was allowed to remain independent after the site visit, since the village was still classified as rural.
