Schildorn

Schildorn is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Ried in the Innviertel with 1141 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Ried.

Geography

Schildorn is located at 520 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 7.3 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 4.5 km. The total area is 13.4 km ². 17.9% of the area is forested, 73.1 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1812 finally to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.

Policy

Mayor Georg Schoibl of the People's Party, which is the retired predecessor Johann Rachbauer followed due to the election in the council of 12 November 2007. Music

Schildorn is also well known by the traditional band, the all excited with her skillful game and the pretty Tyrolean costume Protect stir. 2011 celebrated the Trachtenkapelle their 210 - year anniversary. 2011 and 2012, the traditional band was in the highest power level (E ) District winner in the March vote.
