Schipkau

Schipkau ( until 1937 Zschipkau, Upper Sorbian Šejkow ) is a municipality in the district of Upper Spreewald -Lausitz in Brandenburg.

Geography

Geographical Location

The municipality is located in the southern part Schipkau the state of Brandenburg. The city limits of Dresden is about 50 kilometers away, until Schönefelder Cross on the southern border of Berlin there are about 100 kilometers. The municipality is situated in the Lower Lusatian lignite region. The Euro Speedway Lausitz as multifunctional racing, entertainment and test facility located in the municipal area.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Schipkau Annahütte ( Ždźarki ) Drochow ( Drochow ) Hörlitz ( Wórlica ) Klettwitz ( Klěśišća ) Meuro ( Murjow ) and Schipkau ( Šejkow ).

The villages Schipkaus includes, among other things, the following settlements and parcels:

  • To Annahütte include the districts of Mr. Mill ( Knězny młyn ) and the Karl -Marx- settlement ( K. Marxowe sedlišćo )
  • To Klettwitz the districts Wilhelminensglück / At Hospital ( Wilhelmincowy Gluki / psi chórowni ), the trust settlement ( Drjewojske sedlišćo ) with the parcel perennial mill ( Pušćadłowe Mlyn ) and the settlement Barra mill ( Baranojske Mlyn ) which belongs to a part also to the village Meuro
  • And Schipkau heard Kruger mill ( Kružiojske Mlyn ), Galgenbergstraße settlement ( Tšibjeńcowe sedlišćo ), the new neighborhood Rosa Luxembourg settlement (R. Luxemburgowe sedlišćo ) and the remains of the colony Vogelsberg ( Tšibrińcy ) and the historic village core from the Germanic modern times.

History

Demographics

On 31 December 2001, the municipalities Schipkau, Annahütte, Velcro joke Meuro, Drochow and Hörlitz merged to official free community Schipkau.

Language

In the local documents Schipkaus the niederlausitzische dialect and the Sorbian Koschener dialect is traditionally spoken ( Košynska narec ), where the 1885 in the local documents Annahütte and Drochow almost displaced Schliebener dialect ( Złowinska narec ) of Lower Sorbian due to the influx of the new lignite mining areas to Cottbus, by Jänsch Walder- Lehder ( Janšojce - Lědjanska narec ) and grinder dialect ( Slěpjanska narec ) was partially replaced today.

Policy

In January 2010, the non-partisan community leaders Siegurd Heinze was elected at the district election to the district administrator. His office was taken over by Falk Peschel.

In the mayoral election on May 30, 2010, the CDU candidate Klaus Prietzel was 61.7 percent of the vote (1963 votes) elected mayor. He sat down opposite Elke Lion ( Alliance for Schipkau ) and the non-party individual candidates by Andreas Kunick. Prietzel will take office on June 10, 2010.

Municipal council

The municipal council consists of 18 members and the full-time mayor.

  • Meuroer Citizens Alliance 1 seat ( 5.9%)

The turnout was 52.9 percent.

Coat of arms

Blazon: " Argent, a truncated S-shaped green rosehip branch with six red fruits, beseitet bottom right of a diagonally crossed black hammer and chisel, top left to right by a billowing, black and silver geschachteten flag. "

The new coat of arms is in the center by a "S" - shared -shaped branch of a rose hip plant. The "S" stands for the first letter of the municipality Schipkau. The rose hip plant as regionally -based plant, which has increasingly spread back in the reclaimed areas, also symbolizes the merging of the six districts. The districts are represented as six rosehip fruit. In the lower left part of the crest the mining symbol in the form of mallet (hammer) and iron ( chisel) is arranged. Thus, the tradition of mining is shown symbolically in the municipal area as the past. In the upper right half is shown in the illustration, a black geschachtete start and finish flag. This represents the development of the community Schipkau with the aim of tourism development and the resulting strengthening of the domestic economy and the integration of the Euro Speedway Lausitz, which is located in the center of the community Schipkau.

The coat of arms was designed by Frank heraldist Diemar.

The flag of the municipality Schipkau is two-lane red - white with the municipal coat of arms in the middle.

Economy and infrastructure

In the immediate vicinity of the highway is 13 to the terminal points Klettwitz, Black Heath, Ruhland and Grossraeschen. Nearby the federal roads are also 169 and 96 through the bypass road Senftenberg the district Hörlitz got a direct connection to the highway 169

After the expiry of lignite mining, the community Schipkau has developed in recent years to a motor sport community. The Euro Speedway Lausitz and the DEKRA Technology Center wear it at substantially to technological change and to modernize the infrastructure of the village.

Another landmark of the village is the Klettwitz wind farm (consisting of several wind farms such as the wind farm Klettwitz -Nord), in which produce for several years about 50 wind turbines electric energy for tens of thousands of households.
