Schirrhein
Schirrhein is a commune with 2197 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region.
Geography
The border with Schirrhoffen leads partly through residential areas. In the south, the two villages are flanked by a forest. There, run a stream called Eisenbaechel and some avenues. The other neighboring municipalities are Druze home, Oberhoffen -sur -Moder, Soufflenheim and Haguenau.
History
From 1871 to 1918 belonged to Lorraine and Alsace, the German Empire, and the resort was called " Schirrheim ". The place name has a Celtic origin: " Scir " means " hall ", " barn " or to be dried hay.
