Shock when Thalberg with 915 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) is the end of 2014 a municipality in the district court Fürstenfeld and in the political district of Hartberg - Fürstenfeld in Styria in Austria. As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria shock when Thalberg from 2015 to the municipalities Dechantskirchen ( cadastral shock and Kroisbach ) and Rohrbach an der Lafnitz is divided ( new cadastral ). This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG.

Geography

Geographical Location

Shock when Thalberg is at the southeastern edge of the bill about 15 km north of the district capital Hartberg. The municipality is crossed by Limbach, a tributary of the Lafnitz. The community part Rohrbach shock lies at the confluence of the two rivers. The municipal area extends from the castle Thalberg in the north to the border with Burgenland in the south. While the northern part is inhabited, while the southern part is mostly forested. Rohrbach impact has grown together with the neighboring village of Rohrbach an der Lafnitz.

Above blow Thalberg Thalberg is the castle, which was built in the 12th century to protect the area against the Hungarians. Today it is privately owned.

The community is pretty conveniently located. Through the municipal area, the well-developed in this section break road B 54 runs from Wiener Neustadt to Hartberg. The South motorway A 2 is about nine miles away and over the junction Friedberg / Pinggau (95 ) to reach.

The thermal path from Friedberg to Hartberg runs through the municipality, a breakpoint there but not here. The nearest stop is located in Dechantskirchen in about two kilometers away. Here are two hourly regional train connections.

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 June 1979. Blazon (Coat of Arms description): " In degraded divided by a pine twigs cut from silver and green shield above the outlines of a border to the left wolf in the way black as it appears on the keep of the castle Thalberg. "
