Schlagsdorf

Schlagsdorf is a municipality in the western part of the North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Rehna based in the same city.

Geography

The community impact village lies in a hilly, Lakes area, of which the Mechower lake and the Lankower lake, which are on the border of Schleswig -Holstein, were emphasized. The Lauenburgische town of Ratzeburg is located only about 5 miles from Schlagsdorf.

To Schlagsdorf include the districts Holy Land, impact Bruges and Schlagresdorf.

History

For the first time the place is called as Zlavti in the dated to the year 1158 endowment deed of Henry the Lion of the amenities of the diocese of Ratzeburg with lands. In Ratzeburg tithe register of 1230 the parish village is mentioned as Slaukestorp. Also listed are there today districts shock Bruges as Slaubrize and Schlagresdorf as Ratistorp. Over the centuries, these names were ground to its present name. In the communist era Schlagsdorf lay in the middle of the restricted area and could not be reached without special passes. Since reunification, the Municipality of immigration benefits due to their location in the metropolitan area of Luebeck.

Museum Grenzhus

The Grenzhus in Schlagsdorf located in the former leaseholders house. Here objects from everyday life are collected, preserved and exhibited at the inner German border. Behind the presentation in dioramas, films and exhibits is the desire, the inner-German border and the causal splitting the world into two politically contradictory systems to raise awareness of future generations. In particular, the question is addressed: how has the inner German border affects people's lives? Additionally, an outdoor complex of original components the schematic structure of the former inner- German border from both sides: east and west.
