Schlaitz is a district of the municipality Muldestausee district Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Schlaitz located between Leipzig and Wittenberg on the edge of Duebener Heath on Muldestausee belonging with an area of 6.3 square kilometers of the most important waterways of the county. The village is surrounded by pine and mixed forests and spreads out at the old salt road between Halle and Wittenberg, on the main road runs 100 today.

History

In 1435 the city was first mentioned as Szlautitcz. In the more than two decades of mining operations during the communist era three decades extensive phase of reclamation followed, in the course of which could regenerate nature.

Recently, a newly -serviced building area is created, the next homes also includes social housing and a nursing home. Today Schlaitz is dominated by tourism, on the edge of the village there are a few apartments. The community takes hold also central functions, it is the location of retail stores and other service industries.

Since 1 January 2010, the formerly independent municipality Schlaitz part of the unified community Muldestausee. The former municipality was a member of the administrative community Muldestausee pain creek.

Attractions

The Schlaitzer village church dates from the year 1287. Opposite the church there is a 1871 on the occasion of the peace treaty after the German -French war peace planted oak, which is a war memorial at the feet. In Naturschutprojekt house on the lake ospreys can be observed.
