The Schleicher Electronic GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized technology company with headquarters in Berlin.

The company develops and manufactures control systems (CNC) for automation technology. In addition, Schleicher Electronic also has experience in the field of functional safety technology.

Schleicher Electronic cooperates with internationally renowned research institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institutes or the TU Berlin. In addition, the company is a member of SERCOS International eV - an open, real-time interface for drives.

History

The company was founded in 1937 by Otto Schleicher as " Schleicher relay works " in Berlin. 1958, the " Schleicher relay stations " on the first organized industrial fair in Hannover before the timer MZ 54. This was then the world's first multifunctional time relay, and is still used because of its purely electromechanical base often. Electromechanical and later electronic time relays were and are sold in large numbers worldwide and have made the " Schleicher relay works" internationally known.

1976 Schleicher one of the first programmable logic controllers ( PLC) was developed and introduced on the market. 1983 NC kernel was developed in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute, the Schleicher Electronic completely took over. The company is one of the few CNC manufacturer with its own software kernel.

1986, the company received the Innovation Award Berlin -Brandenburg for " Online Curve Interpolator " for generating free-form curves (for NC machines). 1988, the introduction of CNC -RC PLC system Promodul -U and 1989 the launch of safety relays took place. The production in 1995 switched from Line to the then new group work. As of 2003, Schleicher Electronic belonged to the Wieland Group. Wieland took over at this stage for major product areas of Schleicher distribution in the parent company and did not follow up on a number of product developments. Schleicher was at this time essentially a production and development operation and depending on the sales of the parent company to this the company was sold in 2007 to Aurelius AG. Following the reorganization and expansion of the sales and the establishment of the Asian market Aurelius AG, the company sold in the summer of 2013 to the entrepreneur Sven Dübbers.
