Schlesisches Wochenblatt

The weekly magazine is a weekly newspaper from Opole for the German minority in Poland, which is a bilingual publication with articles in German and Polish.

Chief editor of the newspaper was with a break mid-90s, when Andrzej Firecracker headed the editorial staff, through April 2010 Engelbert Miś. Since issue 942 ( 23 - April 29, 2010 ) is Till Scholtz - Knobloch chief editor. The paper is aimed primarily at Polish citizens who are committed to the German minority. History

For legal reasons, took place in April 1991, the renamed since 1990 as the first newspaper for the German minority in Poland appearing Upper Silesian news in Upper Silesian newspaper. This was associated with the collection at the official organ of the minority, which in March 1993 founded the " Silesiapress " GmbH for this purpose. From February 1995 to January 2011 was the title of Silesian weekly. The current circulation is about 6,500 copies, but each of which go back 20 to 30 percent.

Mid-2010, a merger of the newspaper office of the Silesian weekly paper has been announced with the television and radio editorial Pro Futura for 2011, the 2012 will be completed and will bring the dissolution of the former publisher, the publisher Silesiapress, with him.
