The Office Schlieben is a 1992 formed Office in Brandenburg, in the first 16 municipalities in the former county Herzberg (now Elbe-Elster district, Brandenburg ) were combined into an administrative group. Seat is in the city Schlieben. Through municipal mergers and incorporations, the Office currently has only five municipalities. 2011 lived 5731 people in the office area.

Geographical location

The Office Schlieben located in the northern part of the district Elbe- Elster in Brandenburg ( Germany ) and is bordered to the northwest by the official free city Schoenewalde, on the north by the Office Dahme / Mark ( Teltow -Flaming ), on the northeast by the municipality and Heideblick ( Dahme- Spreewald), to the east by the official free city Sonnenwalde, the official free city Doberlug -Kirchhain in the south and to the official free city Herzberg ( Elster) in the west. The landscape is increasingly characterized by the southern foothills of the Low flaming in the north and flattens off south and on, where there the typical Niederlausitzer heathland begins with Doberlug -Kirchhain.

Under its own label " Schliebener country," the region is marketed touristy.

  • Schlieben ( City) with the districts of Franconia grove Jagsal, Oelsig, Wehrhain and Werchau

In a notice dated 9 July 1992, the Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg gave its approval for the formation of the Office Schlieben. As the time of conclusion of the Office July 21, 1992 has been set. As the headquarters of the city Schlieben was determined. It initially consisted of 16 municipalities in the former county Herzberg: Franken grove, outdoor living, Hillmersdorf, Hohenbucko, Jagsal, Kolochau, Körba, Lebusa, Malitschkendorf, Obernaundorf, Oelsig, Proßmarke, Stechau, Wehrhain, Werchau and the city Schlieben.

On 1 November 2001, the Ministry of the Interior has approved the formation of a new city Schlieben from the communities of the Office Schlieben Frankenhain, Jagsal, Oelsig, Wehrhain, Werchau and the city Schlieben.

December 15, 2001, approving the formation of a new community Lebusa from the communities of the Office Schlieben Freisleben, Körba and Lebusa. On 31 December 2001, Hohenbucko and Proßmarke the new community Hohenbucko merged. Also at December 31, 2001, the merger of the municipalities Kolochau, Malitschkendorf and Polzen the new community Kremitzaue. Also, the merger of the municipalities Hillmersdorf, Obernaundorf and Stechau the new community Fichtwald became effective December 31, 2001. Thus, the number of official belonging to congregations had reduced to five.
