The Schloss Krumbach

The Krumbach castle is located in the Hunchback world in the municipal district of Krumbach ( Lower Austria).

History

The first castle was built in the 13th century in response to the invasions of the Hungarians at the end of the early Middle Ages. In Hungary the ideas in the years 1246 and 1260 it was largely destroyed. The rebuilding has in part to lock character.

1394 was the rule with all accessories Pilgrim III from last Krumbacher Hans of Krumbach. bequeathed by Puchheim, an uncle ( Uncle ) from him, and his brothers and stayed over 200 years in the possession of Puchheimer.

1629 was the rule in the possession of the family of the Count of Palffy Erdöd. In the second Turkish siege in 1683 Krumbach was besieged in vain by the Turks.

After the Revolution of 1848 the Untertänigkeitsverhältnis was abandoned, thus the "rule Krumbach " had come to an end. 1875 by the family Palffy the possessions sold to the Wiener Neustadt lawyer Anton Riehl, then it often happened to change of ownership.

Building

Schloss Krumbach is a highly visible, powerful, three and a half storey four-winged building south of the market Krumbach. It was erected on a wooded hill above the valley of the Zöbernbaches. The small chapel, the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, consecrated in 1250, currently serves as a " wedding chapel ".

Use

The castle was renovated in 1993 by the meta- hotel group under Walter Harwalik and has since been used as a hotel and restaurant. Not only the existing buildings was used, but also two tracts room and a seminar room in front in the northern moat built into it.

The Austrian investor Mirko Kovats operates the 120 -bed hotel since 2009 through its TOSE private foundation as part of the hotel chain Artis (Hotel).
