Schnait is a district of the county seat wine town in the Rems -Murr -Kreis.

The village was mentioned in 1238 as Snait for the first time in a document. Schnait was in the 16th century, the family seat of the noble family Gaisberg. 1555 the village was taken over completely by the taverns of Limpurg. On July 10, 1596 Schnait was taken from Württemberg in possession. The taverns of Limpurg received Schnait back on 18 November 1602. 1607 Schnait went through an exchange definitively over to Württemberg. The church belonged to the upper office Schorndorf. After the dissolution of Schorndorfer Oberamts Schnait 1938 was assigned to the district Waiblingen. In 1971, the Catholic Church of the Holy Cross was opened in Schnait. On 1 January 1975 Schnait was incorporated into wine town.
