Geography
Schopsdorf is located about 20 km south-east of Genthin on the edge of the nature reserve Möckern - Magdeburgerforth.
History
The place was first mentioned in 1329. A few centuries later the town was desolate, it was repopulated by Frederick the Great in 1763. In the course of municipal reform in Saxony- Anhalt, was first incorporated on September 1, 2010 in the city Möckern. The country's Constitutional Court of Saxony-Anhalt raised the incorporation on August 31, 2011, due to formal errors.
