Schrammelmusik

The Schrammelmusik is a typical Vienna musical genre of the late 19th century. It is considered a Viennese folk music.

It was named after the Viennese musicians, violinists and composers Johann and Josef Schrammel. In 1878 she founded with guitarist Anton Strohmayer in Vienna a small ensemble, which they offered a popular repertoire with songs and marches, dances and waltzes in wine taverns and restaurants.

As the father of the famous traditional Viennese brothers Kaspar Schrammelmusik, born and raised in Litschau, the northernmost city in Austria counts as Schrammelmusik city.
