Schrems at Frohnleiten is a municipality with 598 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the north of the district of Graz-Umgebung in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the communities Frohnleiten and Rothelstein, the new community will be called " Frohnleiten ".

Geographical Location
Schrems at Frohnleiten is located about 3 km east of Frohnleiten in Graz Hill Country in Eastern Styria. The highest mountains in the municipality are the Hochtrötsch ( 1,239 m) and the Gschieskogel ( 1,142 m). The community is located at the foot of Rechenberg Pass.

Neighboring communities
History
Approximately 1300 Schrems was first mentioned by the name " Schrentz ". To 1381 there was the first documentary mention of the place name " Schremcz ". From 1393 was already written for a short time Schrems. The local church as an autonomous body created in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Coat of arms
The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 November 1997. Coat Description: averages of pine branches and red beech branches of blue, silver and red split in the middle diagonally crossed a Gezähe old shape in black.

Schrems is right on the Rechbergstraße ( B 64 ) of Frohnleiten to Weiz. In Frohnleiten the road ends right at the Brucker Straße ( S 35 ) from Graz to Bruck an der Mur.
In Schrems there is no train station. The nearest railway station is about 4 km in Frohnleiten. It provides access to the southern runway with hourly regional train connections to Graz, Bruck an der Mur.
Graz Airport is about 45 km away.
