Schuberth

Schuberth GmbH is a German company that specializes in the manufacture of helmets.

History

The company was founded in 1922 on the grounds of the National Jürgens brewery in Braunschweig. Since the 1940s, the company engaged in the development and production of head protection systems and technologies, among others for police, military, industrial safety and fire. In the 1960s, the development of helmets for motorcyclists was added.

Besides its own production is Schuberth helmet supplier for BMW AG and the Scuderia Ferrari as well as suppliers to the Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg.

The family business was taken over by the U.S. private equity firm in 2006 and invested in the expansion of the site in Magdeburg. First, the production and the administration moved to the new headquarters. In 2007, the plant achieved a turnover of 66 million euros. By 2008 there were at the site in Braunschweig nor the research & development and marketing & sales, which were also displaced, with around 70 employees to Magdeburg.

In 2013 again changed the owner. The investment company Perusa took over the majority share of the Schuberth Holding GmbH and its subsidiaries.

Production program

Protective helmets ( head protection) made ​​of plastic, fabric and alloy for all applications such as, among others, construction and sub- trade, mining, industry, fire fighting, civil protection, police, military, motorcycle helmets, Formula 1 helmet, face shields, ear protection and other helmet accessories.
