History
Schwabsoien was first mentioned in 1249. Until 1785, the village belonged to the Bishopric of Augsburg. By swapping it got to the Rentamt Munich and the district court Schongau of the Electorate of Bavaria. Created in 1818, today's community.
Incorporations
On 1 May 1978, until then independent municipality Sachsenried was incorporated in the course of municipal reform.
The administrative community Old town was founded in the same year.

Policy
First Mayor jun Since 2013 Siegfried Neumann. ( Sachsenrieder list). He solved in this office from Konrad Sepp ( village community ), the successor of Wilfried Helmer (no nomination ) was again in 2002.
The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 432,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 55,000.
