Waned in Innkreis is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel with 872 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The competent court is the district court district of Braunau am Inn.

Geography

Waned in Innkreis lies on 423 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 5.2 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 5.4 km. The total area is 17.1 km ². 6.4% of the area is forested, 87.7 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Coat of arms

Official description of the municipality coat of arms: Split of silver and green; in reversed colors right a tree trunk, left a fallen, everted Sapine. The municipality colors are green and white and black.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1814 finally to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.

Personalities

The painter and graphic artist Franz Armbruster was born in 1946 in Schwandstrasse as a child displaced Danube Swabians.

In 1991 the community had 828 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 846 inhabitants.
