Schwarzach is a market in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen and office of the Management Community Schwarzach. Schwarzach is a nationally recognized resort.

History

From 1150 contact service guys from Schwarzach in various monastic notes as witnesses. Northeast of Schwarzach the Lords of Degenberg had their ancestral castle that was burnt down in 1468 Boeckler war. After 1473 Hans von Degenberg built in Schwarzach the new Oberschwarzach castle. The monastery -like plant enclosed a large square room, today's marketplace. When the sword Berger became extinct in 1602, resided at the castle until the 19th century electoral nurse. 1946-1949 Schwarzacher the hospital was built with old people's home on the initiative of Rev. Michael Graf. It is since 1950 orthopedic clinic. On October 7, 1951 Schwarzach received the title of the market. On 1 January 1971 Albert Ried was incorporated. In the late 1970s, it was classified as a small center.

Culture and sights

The Catholic parish church of St. Martin is late Gothic in the choir and nave in the core. Around 1730 there was a comprehensive Baroque style. The tower base dates from the period around 1300, the upper floor is Baroque. In the northern side altar is a Madonna in 1450, in the southern side chapel is an epitaph of the Knight family of the sword Berger of 1602. The high altar was built around 1735, the pulpit with silver reliefs around 1790.

Around the market are grouped on the northeast, east and south sides of the buildings of the Lords of Degenberg. The first building was erected in 1469, the existing buildings date from the period around 1600. On the south side the rule building was erected in 1601 with the castle chapel. On the west side is the built in 1687-1689 Electoral former brewery, which had the monopoly of the wheat beer Braus in the Bavarian Forest. In the northwest there is the built in 1640 Hofwirtshaus.

The Schwarzacher Schäfflertanz is listed since 1896. Performances take place in the seven -year cycle, next dates are 2012 and 2019.

The automobile museum Schwarzach shows about 30 motor vehicles of model years 1928 to 1984 on an area of 150 m².
