Schwarzbach (Bergisches Land)

The Black Bach is a stream in the Bergische Land in North Rhine -Westphalia. It rises in Mettmann in the range between Obschwarzbach and Wülfrath and flows through Ratingen, until it empties into Dusseldorf - Wittlaer into the Rhine.

The Schwarzenbach is about 27 km long and has a catchment area of 55 km ².

In Ratingen the largely unspoilt Bach to nature crosses two nature reserves and landscape protection area. It has the water quality class II ( moderately polluted ).

The fish stock is made of brook trout, rainbow trout, char, perch, roach / feathers, carp, pike, catfish and walleye.

The creek is named after the Schwarzbachtals ( including the eponymous nature reserve) in the Hofschaft Götzberg east of Ratingen and the districts Mettmann - Obschwarzbach and low- Schwarzbach and Ratingen- Schwarzbach ( and named after Junction 33 of the Federal Highway 44). To the east of Ratingen crosses the Schwarzbach Valley of the Federal Highway 3 the creek.
