Schwarzbach, Brandenburg

Schwarzenbach ( Upper Sorbian Corna Woda ) is a municipality in the south of Oberspreewald -Lausitz, Land Brandenburg and is part of the Office Ruhland.

Geography

The community is located about 10 kilometers south of Senftenberg. It is located in the Lusatian Lakeland, south from Lake Senftenberg. Schwarzbach is located in the northwestern Upper Lusatia. Through the district Biehlen the Schwarze Elster flows.

History

Schwarzenbach was first mentioned in 1455.

1950 joined the community from the district Hoyerswerda in the county Senftenberg. In 1974, the municipalities Biehlen and Guteborn were incorporated into the Schwarzenbach, the latter was ausgemeindet again on May 6, 1990.

In Schwarzenbach is a manor house, which was built about 1650. Before that stands a war memorial to the fallen of the First World War.
