Schweiburg

BW

The Schweiburg is a tributary of the Weser, the island Strohauser Plate surrounds, with the river at Roden churches. Until the Weser correction by Ludwig Franzius the Schweiburg was the main fairway of the Weser. About the Schweiburg that falls at low tide almost dry except for a small trickle, the marinas are within Absersiel and Strohausersiel.

After the flood tide runs in the form of an up to 50 cm high tidal wave in the south-facing strong narrowing Schweiburg.

The Schweiburg in some map displays - misnamed Schmetburg - especially in digital maps materials.
