Schweinschied

Schweinschied is a municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Meis home.

Geography

The street village located in the North Palatine Uplands 393 meters southwest of the Ringberg. 37.2 percent of the district area is forested. To the north is dog stream, in the east Jeckenbach, to the south and west is Löllbach Hoppstädten.

History

Schweinschied was first documented in 1388.

1816-1866 it belonged to the upper office Meisenheim of Hesse- Homburg and came up with in 1866 to Prussia.

Culture and sights

On the slopes of Mount ring is a 50 -acre nature reserve. The 1999 scale orchards and nature trail leads to the Roman monument, a beaten from the rock niche tomb. It is the largest natural stone monument north of the Alps.
