The Schwentine at Kiel

The Schwentine is 62 km with one of the longest rivers of Schleswig-Holstein. It rises on the highest point of the state, the Bungsberg, and flows through the entire Holstein Switzerland with numerous large lakes. The river flows through the towns of Eutin, Bad Malente, Plon, Preetz, Schwentinental ( Raisdorf and Klaus village) and ends in Kiel between the districts Neumühlen - Dietrichsdorf and Wellingdorf in the Kiel Fjord.

Water

Conservation

The oxbow lake of the Schwentine is a 1984 be designated as a nature reserve section of the Schwentine.
