Schwentinental
Schwentinental is a town in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein. The town consists mainly of the two districts Klaus village and Raisdorf.
Geography and transport
Schwentinental is located east of Kiel at the Schwentine. The federal highways 76 and 202 run in the city. The web Kiel-Lübeck route runs through the town. In the district Raisdorf is a train station, for links with each hourly the RE- line Kiel -Lübeck, RB - line Kiel -Lübeck ( with stops at all intermediate stations ).
History
Raisdorf was probably founded around the year 1000. At that time it was still called Radwersdorp. On December 9, 1224 Raisdorf was first mentioned. On November 19, 1369 Hinrik Blok Raisdorf "dat gansse Dorp to turn rat 's Werstorpe " sold to the Preetzer monastery.

Klaus village was founded by Preetz monastery mentioned in 1224 as Vruwenhuthe the first time. 1233 gets the place the name Nicolaustorp because there a chapel in honor of St. Nicholas was built.
Schwentinental was formed on 1 March 2008 by the merger of the official free communities Klaus village and Raisdorf.

Tourism and recreation
The Schwentine Park offers 40 acres and an adjacent outdoor swimming pool plenty of opportunities for recreation. The park also includes the Rosensee, a reservoir for a hydroelectric power plant, which was built by Bernhard Howaldt 1908/ 09 ( see also Helix Tower fishway ).
By all Schwentinental the European long-distance hiking trail runs E1, it leads from Kiel coming along Schwentine further towards Preetz. The district Raisdorf is part of the network of eight Schuster.
Economy
About the city limits, the industrial area " Baltic Sea - Park" and the big disco "Atrium" are known.
Education
In the district Raisdorf is one of the sites of private Bernd- Blindow schools where vocational education and training, technical college and a high school are possible, and also belongs to the group Blindow DIPLOMA - FH Northern Hesse. This presence there offers events as a complementary element of distance learning courses. Since the Hessian Higher Education Act applies to the Diploma Technical College is a study under certain conditions access possible even without high school graduation or college entrance.
