SciFan

SciFan is an online database for fans of science fiction and fantasy books.

It was started in 1999 by Jim Harris and Olivier Travers. In 2001, Harris decided to dedicate his time to writing more. He won his girlfriend Sophie Bellais as another supervisor. Since 2004, these two people are the maintainer of the database team.

The website provides detailed bibliographic information, are, where possible, information on the series of books in series and arranged along lines to create universes with a uniform background. Books are also grouped into themes such as " 18th Century", "Alternate History" and " Mathematic Fantasy". A useful feature is the access to lists of new and forthcoming books.

There is also a search function with the ability to search for words or phrases in the database fields author, book title, series and universe to search.

The site allows users direct access to booksellers and antique shops, and attention is paid to the reputation of the dealer.
